Feast of Sto. Niño

This January 17, 2016, our parish--San Jose De Navotas Parish--had our Sto. Niño procession because of the Feast of Sto. Niño. Our family joined in the procession and I was one of the lucky nuggets to cover the event.

During the start of the procession, I wasn't really that active to take photos because I felt like I didn't need to. But the photographer inside of me took over and I was running around all over the place like crazy. It was amazing. It was as if the Holy Spirit took over and told me, "Hang in there! We got ya'!". And it did.

To be honest, I wasn't even tired during the whole procession. Well, maybe in the middle of covering the event, I got thirsty but I was no where near tired. I was pumped and ready to take photos of everybody. I felt like I just had to and that it was really a privilege to. Covering the whole procession was definitely an honor just as well as joining it.

And after the procession, there was a follow-up blessing of all the Sto. Niño's that joined in the procession, together with their rightful owner. The blessing was done by Fr. Jun Bartolome, our parish priest.

These are some of the photos from my coverage of the blessing earlier:

Our parish priest, Fr. Jun Bartolome, blessing the whole Sto. Niño devotees community of San Jose De Navotas Parish with their home Sto. Niño's.

Fr. Jun Bartolome blessing the Sto. Niño's from our own home. It had been a complete privilege of our three Sto. Niño's to have joined the procession. (And my parents have already decided that they will include them once again next year... Hurray!)

Even our very own Señor Sto. Niño of San Jose De Navotas Parish joined in the procession. (Float was designed by the loyal seminarians of our parish)

And to wrap it all up, what would a procession/parade/piyesta be without candies? Before, during and after the procession, my parents never ceased to give out candies to children watching the procession (and even to children at heart)...

And what would the Sunday be if not with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist held inside the San Jose De Navotas Parish? (And of course, together with our Sto. Niño devotees with their own Sto. Niño's) The 4pm mass was presided by, yet again, our parish priest, Fr. Jun Bartolome.

After the mass, there had also been a blessing of the children whom attended the 4pm mass:

Viva! Pit Señor! :)

And this concludes the day's blessing. May the Lord be with us all. Amen. :)
