The Windows are Open, Especially that Door!

This day wasn't just a normal Sunday. Well, it was supposed to be a normal Sunday... But it just so happened that little did I know, I was going to be handpicked to cover the Opening of the Holy Door on the exact day it happened (January 31, 2016). I was astonished, thankful and so blessed to have covered this momentous event wherein our parish has been chosen by the Diocese of Caloocan to be one of the parishes in the Diocese with a Jubilee Door and to be one of the parish of pilgrimages here in the Diocese of Caloocan.

The ceremony was held by Fr. Jerome since Bishop Pablo Virgilio David is currently celebrating the International Eucharistic Congress in Cebu. Even though that, we've learned a ton about the Door of Mercy during his homily. And he was also joined by three other priests we all know and love:

"Ang habag at awa ng Diyos ay nasa puso ng tao. Ang habag at awa ng Diyos ay nasa puso mo. Ang habag at awa ng Diyos ay nasa puso ninyo. Ang habag at awa ng Diyos ay nasa puso nating lahat", ("The mercy and compassion of God is in the hearts of the people. The mercy and compassion of God is in your heart. The mercy and compassion of God is in all your hearts. The mercy and compassion of God is in all our hearts.") Fr. Jerome mentioned during his homily.

He also emphasized goodness in his homily saying, "Ang mali ay mali kahit lahat ay gumagawa nito. At ang tama ay tama kahit ni isa lang ang gumagawa nito." which translates in English as, "A wrong is a wrong even though everybody does it. And a right is a right even if there's only one person doing it.", emphasizing how we cannot alter the morally good in our earth today so we must do good no matter how corny it may seem.

After the mass, there was also a Feeding of the Hungry outside the parish for those less fortunate to be able to eat for this Sunday, since our theme is Mercy and Compassion.

I'm sorry I'm not able to insert all the photos in here or even in my Facebook page/account because the photos I took will go directly to the Parish Mass Media Facebook page.
