Exposition on Exorcism

SAN JOSE DE NAVOTAS PARISH-- On July 2, 2016, Saturday, the 2nd Social Communication Forum for the Youth entitled "Exorsismo: Sipatin Bago Sapitin" was held at the San Lorenzo Hall in San Jose Academy, Navotas City. Diocesan chief exorcist, Rev. Fr. James Anthony Del Rosario, was invited to give the seminar and forum to the young parishioners. In line with this, forum was organized by the Parish Mass Media Ministry with the help of the Parish Youth Ministry of San Jose Parish lead by Mr. Jojie Juanerio.

The youth parishioners were encouraged to attend the said seminar and forum to enlighten and widen their knowledge about exorcism and its influence to the youth through mass media.

"Nandito po tayo upang maimulat tayo sa mga epekto sa kabataan at sa mass media na ginagawa ni Satan." ("We are here to be eye-opened about the effects that Satan has on our youth and in the mass media"), as said by Bro. Niño Raphael Cruz during his welcome speech.

"Ayon nga po sa isang study, karamihan ng mga taong nasasapian o madalas na napopossess ay mga kabataan, especially mga babae at bata. Sabi nga ni Fr. Siquia, mas psychic ang mga babae at bata kaya sila ang mga madalas na nasasaniban lalo na ang mga kabataan na prone sa mass media." ("Based on a certain study, most of the people that get possessed are the youth, especially the girls and children. As stated by Fr. Siquia, girls and children are more psychic so they tend to be an easier target for exorcism, most especially the youth because they are prone to mass media."), he adds on his speech.

In addition to this, the San Jose De Navotas parish priest, Rev. Fr. Mariano "Jun" Bartolome was also invited to the forum welcoming the youth with his wise words as he stated, "Sana ay maramdaman ng youth na the parish considers you an important member and part of our community. Kaya naririto ako dahil importante kayo. Mayroon ngang nagsabi na the youth is the future of the church. I disagree. Hindi sila future. They are the present of the church. Ngayon pa lang, importante na ang kabataan." ("I hope that the youth will feel that the parish considers you an important member and part of our community. That is why I'm here because you are important. There has also been someone saying that the youth is the future of the church. I disagree. They are not the future. They are the present of the church. Right now, the youth is already important.")

"Part of appreciating your importance is trying to listen to what you are saying. Nagulat din ako at bakit ito ang topic ninyo. I would have suggested other topics para siyang pag-usapan natin pero siyempre, I would like to listen to you. Mukhang importante sa inyo ang concern na ito." ("Part of appreciating your importance is trying to listen to what you are saying. I was surprised unto why your topic was this. I would have suggested other topics for us to talk about but I would like to listen to you. And I can see that this concern is important to you"), he adds on his opening remark.

Ending his remark he acclaimed, "The devil is real. Evil is real. Sin is real. But, God is also real. The Holy Spirit is also real. It's only the other side that we see the devil but sana mas maging malinaw din sa atin na mas makapangyarihan ang Diyos at ang Espiritu Santo ("I hope it is also clear to all of us that God is more powerful, as well as the Holy Spirit"). I hope you all will be filled with the Holy Spirit after this forum."

The big reveal here was what Rev. Fr. James Anthony Del Rosario had to say about the concerns of exorcism. Actually, in the ordinary things in our lives, sometimes, he (devil) is influencing us so we have to be very discerning in our lives."

"The first goal of the demon is to prevent us from receiving salvation. Ang plano niya ay mapalayo tayo sa Diyos at mapunta sa kanya ("His plan is for us to be taken away from God and to be put in his clutches").", he says in his talk.

As the talk comes near to the end, there has been a quick forum with the parishioners asking questions to Fr. James and his experiences in the people he has exorcised. He was very vigilant in giving them his answers but very open to talk about his knowledge towards exorcism.

The seminar and forum comes to an end with Mr. Jojie Juanerio, Sis. Vianca Perez and Bro. Niño Cruz awarding Rev. Fr. James Anthony Del Rosario his plaque of recognition.
