Dream High!

When we were still in Seoul, South Korea, I had become addicted to the KDrama, "Dream High", which I had previously watched beforehand. I watched the KDrama over again and found myself inspired at the idea of it. Especially the flow of the story to reach your dreams and take your time. You may say that I binge-watched for it but I knew it was worth it.

Let me give you a quick overview of the story-line.. The main characters are Song Sam Dong, Go Hye Mi, Hyuk Shin Hyuk (Jin Guk), Yoon Baek Hee, Kim Pil-suk and Jason. The story begins with Hye Mi as a spoiled brat and because of her father's debts, she has to set aside her expertise in classical music to audition for Kirin Arts School, which she refers to as trash school because it is third rate--same as her "best friend", Baek Hee that evidently passes the audition while she does not.

And as the story goes on, she meets Sam Dong--a love-sick provincial bumpkin that is very much in love with Hye Mi--because he's one of the special students in Kirin Arts. Same with Jin Guk, that was also a childhood friend of Hye Mi--and her somewhat lover.

The story goes by as well and welcomes the presence of Kim Pil-suk. She is a rather fat girl weighing 82 kilograms. But because she is determined and inspired to win Jason's feelings for her, she accepts Jason's 200-Day Challenge wherein she has to loose 30kg within 200 days. And to Jason's surprise, after the 200 days, Pil-suk does lose weight and becomes beautiful. As the story goes by, Jason admits to Pil-suk that he likes her--even before, when she was fat. He was just too shy to admit it because of his boastfulness.

Challenges meet the teens of Kirin Arts, as well as Baek Hee's fall of glory. She is bashed and ruined same with Jin Guk (that is secretly the chairman's illegitimate son) when he tries to cover up for Baek Hee's mistake.

They, then, come together with Sam Dong, Hye Mi, Pil-suk and Jason and become Dream High. Reaching further, they face an extreme opportunity that could either break their group or rise it above the rest.

When that opportunity came, the six of them audition for an ultimate goal--their dream. To know what that is and what happens next to their friendship and careers, it's for me to know and for you to find out! I've spoiled more than enough. And I'm pretty sure you've become interested in the story-line as well.

As you watch the story, you'll also come to realize what is the importance of the K pendant at the beginning of this blog post. It serves as a very important pendant in the lives of all the Dream High cast. Just watch and you'll see! ;)

WARNING: DREAM HIGH 2 IS NOT AS GOOD AS DREAM HIGH 1.
I watched the first episode of Dream High 2 and I was very disappointed. To avoid disappointment, DO NOT WATCH DREAM HIGH 2. But if you insist, go ahead.
